A little bit about me

I am a 51 year old female who has just moved to the area. I do not have much childcare experience besides my nieces and nephews but I am a former LPN and have both basic and advanced CPR trainings. I am open to housework and light cooking and can accommodate any schedule including last minute changes. I have experience working with all type of people and worked in the ER when employed as a nurse, so dealt with patients of all ages with all types of ailments and behaviors. I have experience working with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients and have experience dealing with difficult behaviors without becoming frustrated or anxious. Am not a nanny or even a certified care giver, but if you are looking for a responsible adult who will care for your child and house like they are mine I maybe the person for you.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was an LPN for over 10 years and worked in the ER so I have experience with patients of all ages with a various issues. I have BLS & ALS certification and have been exposed to all type of emergencies and experience how to treat many accidents or emergencies.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like taking kids outside as much as possible. I like yo take kids to the park, or a walk, if they can swim then a trip to a pool is always a top go to place I take kids. During rainy days I like to do art and craft projects. Coloring, putting together a puzzle, even cooking a favorite dessert. I like to be active and would prefer doing anything other than watch tv or play video games.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is to care for and care about the child you are hired to care for. A nanny must be patient, kind, attentive, and ensure the child is safe and cared for at all times. A nanny should nurture the child’s curiosity while ensuring their safety.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked with many special needs children when I worked as a nurse. My exposure to children was limited to the ER so I never had prolonged exposure to children with behavioral problems but I did have over 2 years working with adults with dementia and Alzheimer. Although not exactly the same I do know how to deal with patients that may have aggressive behaviors and how to patiently and calmly redirect patients with these behaviors.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have so many memories from the days I took care of my niece and nephew, kids are so precious and curious and I love watching them learn and take in the world. Just watching children explore and discover the world around them is fascinating
