Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’m a very outdoorsy person which is what I think separates me from a lot of nannies! I’m up for the walk to the park, the game of soccer tennis, and getting creative in any way both outdoors and indoors. I’m a woman of the arts so their will be no lack of finding creativity for your child to express. If your baby is introverted I have no problem to adapting to their needs and know I can find activities that are right for them and some that can be used as educational fun.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve interned in multiple special needs classrooms for about a year, and with my brother being special needs I know every kid is not the same, and am aware a lot of these programs are overlooked and much less abused. I’d love to be able to be a safe haven in your child’s life
The most important part about being a nanny...
I remember walking into my first day as a 5th grade teacher intern, colors worn proudly across my lids, and stepping in to a class that completely tore me apart. I’ve never seen kids so witty and judgmental. I knew I had some work that needed to be done. The teacher was no help, completely racist and these children really believed what this lady was putting out too them, making the kids in return reflect on themselves and start to loath their skin color. These children where powerful, I refuse to allow them to believe the disgust this lady was preaching to them. Working closely with these children, tears and all, after a few weeks I started to see changes in the classroom. The kids where no longer angry, and judgmental. They stopped turning an ear to a friend, and one day came into the classroom wearing brightly colored eyeshadow, all of them. the same eyeshadow they made fun of me for just because they didn’t understand it.
