I first started caring for infant cousins while in high school before moving to professional babysitting.
Back in 2004 to 2005, I ran a day care taking care of six children, ages 1 to 10 in IN. From there I babysat for twin toddlers and a 5 year old when my family moved to IL, as well as assisted in caring for three infants, from newborn to 9 months of age.
When that family moved away 3 years later, I went on to being a live in nanny for a family with 4 children, aged newborn to 12 when I started. I stayed there for 3 years until the family moved to Georgia.
I then accepted a position in Ohio for six months with a 4 year old daughter.
After the family separated from their employment, and informed me they no longer needed me services. I have also been a live in nanny for an 8 year old for a year and a half in North Carolina, then worked as a babysitter here in Hawaii, caring for up to 8 children at one time, aging from 9 months to 12 years old. I have experience with 2 sets of twins, one set who where also preemies.
I have worked with children with ADHD, Bi polar disorder, and depressive/anxiety disorders. In addition, I've dealt with CP, autism, and developmentally behind children, and am comfortable with any special needs a child would have.
I am able to assist in early learning development of toddlers, such as ABC's, learning to speak and increasing vocabulary, counting, simple math, recognizing colors and shapes, and learning nursery rhymes and songs. I have also taught a three year old to read and write, and have experience with teaching children the proper social skills they need to function successfully in school and other social settings.
I am also comfortable working with and around older children and assisting them with their homework.
