A little bit about me

Hello with positive energies. I am 52 years young & I love children & building bonds. My AA in Psychology, CPR, AED, First Aid, SIDS/SUIDS, Medication Administration training and Certifications are up to date. My interest is in the whole child, as I will follow your family guidelines and cultural/ diverse/structured family values. Being interactive helps the child, developmentally & I am interactive as well as teaching them while they play. My 24 yo adult daughter of my 3 children lives with me <3 My husband and I have been married for 3 years & we have 5 grands! Working with special needs children have been rewarding and full of happy memories. My goal is to open my own home Child Care and continue to share my gregarious spirit. I look forward to meeting you & having Tea Time or Space Shuttle play with the little ones. Enjoy the positive energies in your day.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

at the University of Maryland Child and Adolescent Psychology. It was exciting, rewarding, enriching, and I felt inclusive as an important part as a volunteer. It was a learning experience.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

would include: art; singing; dancing; interactive reading; learning activities; science; board/games; rock-search-&-paint; dolls; cars; painting; slitter; play dough; coloring; nature walks; cooking; drama/role play; super hero; skating; bike riding; nerf play; golf; kitchen play; search-&-find; hop-scotch; chalking; parade & march; make your own fruit bowl; store & shop; puzzles; cards; match up; parachute; kites; paper airplanes; Simon/child;s name Says; red/green light; Child's name-May I; racing; jump rope; exercise; diy gifts; paper card making; stuff & dress a bear; kick ball; baseball; volleyball; tag; hide-&-seek; guess who; follow the leader; catch; practice cutting; needle threading; practice tie/button/zip/ velcro; make sun catchers; diy sticker book; I Am book; story time; show-&-tell; lego; build a city; paper art is endless; lego people; super hero action figures; What Am I - act like an animal; art is endless; I like to do whatever the little heart visions & imagines!!!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is the impact, influence, and reflection I have on the children. The family connection is also very important to me.

My experience with special needs children...

have been rewarding. It is important to observe first. Ask the loved ones of their needs/likes/ dislikes/favorites etc. Asks how they best communicate and respond to people/actions/behavior/tones/sounds etc. Find out if there are any triggers. I give the child time to adjust to my presence and energy. I may parallel play, read a story aloud but by myself. I have started off with winner tools sometimes....BUBBLES! Beaded Neclaces! singing songs made up with their names in it! I will sit and watch their favorite show and laugh/dance/enjoy it! Sensory Bottles! These have all been successful at making a NEW FRIEND! I understand that each person has their own personality and many has NO problem with letting anyone know when they are serious/upset/angry/ready to eat/drink/want to be alone/want to be left alone/ready to play etc. People with special needs do need that love and attention everyone needs with compassion, love, gentleness, creativity, patience, genuine and with a lot of SMILES!!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don't have a favorite moment rather than favorite times, memories with the children. My most recent nanny time was for 1.5yr and ended a few months ago. Two boys 7 and his 9 year old brother on the severe but colorful end of the spectrum. I love how much we learned each other & how he would like when I would sing. He would sing with me and I loved it when he would smile just that big! & laugh! He would jump on me when I was waiting for him to get off of the bus! He was excited to see his brother too & his brother was so patient and loving towards him. To catch those moments on camera helps me relive and be captivated any time I want. I also love the time with my granddaughter, who has a vibrant personality. She is funny and thinks that she teaches me all of my dance moves. Uh No... I'm doing it right! "No G-G. It's like this!" It's always been the moments, that stain my heart, with colors of the rainbow! I love those nanny moments!

Meghan G. - Seeking Work in Baltimore

Babysitter Available in Baltimore, MD: Meghan G.

Hi! I’m Meghan. I’ve babysat children of all ages, both in Baltimore and while attending Tulane University in New Orleans. Some of my favorite memories have come from building forts, doing arts and crafts, playing outside, reading stories, and finding fun ways to keep kids active, engaged, and laughing. Whether we’re spending the day at the pool, exploring a park, working on a craft project, or having a movie night, I love helping kids have a great time while making parents feel confident their children are in good hands.

In addition to babysitting, I worked as a lifeguard for several years, where I spent just as much time interacting with kids as I did ensuring their safety. That experience taught me responsibility, patience, and how to stay calm and attentive in any situation.

Families would describe me as dependable, energetic, caring, and easy to communicate with. I’m looking forward to meeting new families and creating a safe, positive, and fun environment for your children!
