A little bit about me

I am the 2nd child of 8 children. I have been learning how to care for children since I was about 5 y/o. My mom was a stay-at-home mom and so I spent my life primarily at home with her and all my siblings. I have 1 older brother, 5 younger sisters and a younger brother. We all have been homeschooled, and two of eight (number two being me) have graduated from my mom's school, the "oicas academy".
I nannied for two families in the last few years and now work at a daycare. Working with kids has always been my passion. I am looking to get back into being a nanny because I feel it is a much more caring environment that helps the kids grow and learn on a more individual level. I am hoping to be a light to the kids and help them grow into successful and responsible people in the world.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I nannied for a family with 2 girls. I started when they had a 2 y/o, & 7 m/o. I nannied for them just over 2 years.
I then Nannied for a family that had 3 kids. When I started their kids were: 9 y/o boy, 3y/o boy & 3 m/o girl. I worked for them for 9 months.
Previously I worked for them when I nannied for the other family, I watched 4 kids from 2 families at the same time & did that for about 4 months. The first families' girls were 3 y/o and 14 m/o at that time, & the boys for the second family were 7 y/o & 7 m/o at that time.
I started working at an in-home-daycare in Dec, that is where I currently reside in my employment.
I also will do evening babysitting during the work week & during the weekends. Both during the day & overnight sitting.
Throughout my life, starting when I was 9 y/o, I started volunteering in church children functions including: nursery, children Sunday school classes (ages 3-3rd grade), VBS, & Awana (primarily in preschool age groups and 1st grade).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like bake and cook with children; I know that kids like to help do grown up things and the kitchen is a good place they can learn and be involved.
I like to do crafts, coloring and imaginative activities that help develop their fine motor skills. I also love to help teach children to do things, and I am more than capable a have already helped in preschool formats of learning to help equip them for school.
I enjoy taking the kids on walks and to things like playgrounds and parks. I also encourage water play through safe environments such as using sprinklers and making water play tubs with different activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think that as a nanny, I am meant to help support healthy lifestyle and habits, while also being able to give children the individual care they need to fulfill all their emotional and physical needs.
I believe that nannies are more than just care givers, I think that they are supposed to help build stability in authoritative roles for the children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite memory nannying was toward the end of my job with the first family. Both of the girls were tired from playing outside during the day and instead of laying them down for nap as I usually did, we sat on the couch in the game room and both the girls got cuddles and love until they both fell asleep, and I was stuck. Their mom came home on her lunch break and got a photo of it and years later that is my favorite photo with those girls and most treasured memory.
