A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Annaliese, and I am a student at NC State University, double majoring in Computer Science and Biochemistry. I have always had a passion for working with children and have experience in childcare, and youth development.
I graduated from Green Level High School and have spent years working with children in various roles. At the YMCA, I worked at Camp Grace, Camp Outer Limits, and Sports Camp, gaining experience with kids of all ages and abilities. I also worked before school at Highcroft Elementary and served as the Site Coordinator at Hortons Creek Elementary. I was a camp counselor for three years before transitioning to a student manager position at the Oval at NC State.
I am a kind, patient, and responsible person who genuinely enjoys helping children grow, learn, and develop confidence. Being a positive role model in a child’s life is something I value deeply.
I would love the opportunity to bring my enthusiasm, experience, and care to your family as a nanny!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is building a trusting, nurturing relationship with both the child and their family. A nanny plays a vital role in a child’s daily life not just supervising, but actively supporting their growth, learning, and emotional development. Creating a safe, consistent, and loving environment allows children to thrive and feel secure. Being a nanny also means being dependable, communicative, and respectful of the family’s values and routines, while bringing creativity, patience, and genuine care into each day. In my experience, being a nanny also means wearing many hats caregiver, teacher, role model, and even a source of comfort during tough moments. It’s important to stay flexible and attentive to each child’s unique personality, interests, and needs. Whether it’s guiding them through challenges, encouraging their imagination, or simply sharing a laugh, every interaction is an opportunity to make a positive impact on their development and well being

My experience with special needs children...

I had the opportunity to work with children with special needs through Camp Grace, a specialized program under the YMCA. In this role, I provided direct support to campers with a range of physical, developmental, and emotional needs. I adapted activities to ensure accessibility, promoted inclusion in group settings, and built strong, trusting relationships with each child. This experience deepened my patience, empathy, and creativity as a caregiver and helped me learn how to communicate effectively with both children and their families.

Additionally, I collaborated closely with team members to create a safe and supportive environment, where every child could participate meaningfully and feel valued.

Hello... I am a mother of 4 and grandmother of 8. My professional position for 14 years of being a trainer with Metlife has recently been eliminated. One of my granddaughters and my husband is both disabled so I have experience with medical conditions. I am not currently certified but I have completed the training several years ago during a course my mother in law was training. I am currently taking time off for myself while I consider my next phase of life. My daughter and 6 month old grandson currently lives with me so I have recently been refreshed caring for an infant. I would love to see if I am a right fit for you and your family.
