A little bit about me

I am a mature & responsible, 18 year old woman, recently moved from Australia to reconnect to family and greatly enjoy the company of kids.

I myself have 4 younger siblings and a large family, all ranging from 3-16 years old. So I am very well aquatinted with the challenges and responsibilities of having and caring for younger children.

I consider myself very bubbly, playful, and caring. I have highly artistic/creative talents. Great for maintaining and engaging kids into creative, self-expressive activities.

I am not super athletic, but enjoy playing or kicking around a ball outside, as I've grown up around a major sporty family.

I've trained for 6 years in self-defense, so I am more than capable of ensuring the safety of others and myself.

I'm also a fast learner in the kitchen. I myself am a vegetarian and cook frequently, although I am able to prepare and cook according to any diets.

I've done 1-2 time paid care for children in the past and would love to do so again.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy crafts and drawing, baking, active/outdoor activities (eg.. tag, sport,), building cubby's and any enjoyable activities for kids, with kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being patient, understanding, caring and active with the children, but at the same time be persistent and absolute/consistent with rules and decisions. You can't spoil them or be too loose and not strict to some extent with them. Otherwise it will make for difficult behaviors and tricky situations. But always make sure they ARE and feel safe and heard, otherwise there wont be any for of trust and respect.

My experience with special needs children...

I have no experience with caring for special needs kids, but I am not new to it as I grew up with close family friends and classmates that required or had special needs. Molding me to be very understanding and patient.
