I'm a warm and grounded professional with over 10 years experience as a live-in/live-out nanny/family assistant for infants through teens, twins, and multi-lingual families. I've worked with special needs children and adults in residential and day schools, as well as in the community.
I completed college coursework in elementary education, child development, and psychology. I am certified in CPR/First Aid and trained in car seat safety.
Attention to developmental stages and child centered and social/emotional learning. The most important part about being a nanny...

Understanding that when I'm with the children, I'm responsible for the people their parents hold dearest. Nannies provide parents with the certainty that while they're not with them, their children will be loved, safe, educated, and will be able to engage with the world around them in all the developmentally appropriate ways.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked with DeafBlind children at a residential school, as well as at a school for children with developmental disabilities and who experienced complex trauma. I've worked with children with medical needs (who required transfers in and out of wheelchairs), feeding tubes, seizure disorders, as well as with significant emotional and behavioral challenges due to trauma. I've also worked with adults with disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Too many to count! Regular outings with a toddler to the Boston Science Museum and watching her engage in new ways to the world around her with each visit. Bringing three children to the beach and enjoying every moment with them playing in water and sand. Hearing a pre-schooler tell me with delight "look! They're dancing!" when seeing leaves swirling on the ground as the breeze caught them. Watching the baby I cared for grow and become one of the top snowboarders in the country.
