Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have many years (10+) of experience in caring for and educating children. I enjoy helping people help themselves. I am reliable and honest. I am passionate about providing learning opportunities in a creative and practical way. I really enjoy spending one on one time with people and discovering what brings joy to their lives. I have experience working at a daycare/preschool as well as providing in-home preschool to many families. I have volunteered for several Christian originations which I worked with children as well. I would love to become part of the team to help care for your child(children). .

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to engage in a variety of activities with children. I prefer to have a play based active learning environment. I enjoy hands on activities that offer an educational aspect and learning opportunity. For example, if we are playing with play dough (that we would make homemade together) we might pick a zoo animal theme. We would create a variety of animals around the room. Then the child could be my tour guide and take me to each animal and tell me about it. We would switch roles and then I could expand on the knowledge they already have and teach them something new. Then we would reinforce what was learned with a book about the topic during story time.
Active play is a great way to explore math, science, and language through songs, dance, crafts, and experiments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me the most exciting part of being a nanny is that these beautiful young children will grow up someday to be amazing adults. I love that I can take part in their life story. They are not just kids, they are our future parents, doctors, engineers, skilled tradesmen, artists (or whatever life path they take). It all starts with being in a nurturing environment where they can learn their ABC’s and 1,2,3’s. I enjoy playing, teaching, and caring for children. I would love the opportunity to share all these things with your child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with a variety of children including ADHD, ASD, and those with severe allergies. I find awareness, patience and perseverance to be the key in managing their care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was when I was caring for a family that mainly spoke Chinese in their home. I was teaching the children English. My favorite moment was when I played the stinky feet song. The children loved the tune, but I realized that they didn’t quite understand the words. So I google translated the words and we laughed so hard we cried when they realized the silly song lyrics are ‘your sisters got stinky feet!
