I am a retired special education teacher. I worked with high school students severe and profound disabilities, including autism, Down’s syndrome, and cerebral palsy. I learned patience and empathy. I loved this position but ended up with burnout.
I raised two daughters who are successful and competent. Ali is 40, very hard to believe. Sarah, with whom I live has two children. Logan is seven and is in a gifted educational program. Julia is four, and I plan to teach her how to read. My daughters and grandchildren are the lights of my life.
I am seeking summer employment. I no longer drive, due to my age. But I can offer story time and arts and crafts. I will allow very limited time for television and video games as these are not quality times.
