Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have volunteered in my church’s nursery for almost seven years now, caring for children from 3 months to 3 years. I also previously volunteered at the moms group at my church, caring for children from age 3 to 12 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
For outdoor activities, I love going on walks and going to the park with the children I take care of. I also like to play soccer with them (even though I am not very good), and I sometimes like to show them my cartwheel skills. I love to play catch, dodgeball, skate, hula hoop, bike, etc.
For indoor activities, I love playing board games, hide and seek, and crafting (I consider myself a creative person). If the child enjoys being read to, I love reading to them.

Is getting to be a part of their development, and to be able to build them up and be a positive person in their lives.
My experience with special needs children...
During my senior year of high school, I was chosen to be a peer leader in the peer leadership program for the special needs class. We got to know all of the students involved and worked together as peer leaders to come up with activities to do, decorated the bulletin board, and made sure every child was included in their own way. In the special needs program, there were children with autism, behavior disorders, cerebral palsy, etc. Each peer leader personally worked one-on-one with each of the students from the program during gym class. At the end of the semester, I even sat with a few of the children at lunch and got closer with them. By the time I started at junior college, one of the girls had started there too and we regularly said hi and talked in the hallways.
