More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been in the business of childcare for the past 9 years. I have the most experience working with toddlers and infants and I have about 2-3 years of school-age/pre-teen experience. I am currently a stand-in nanny for a 2 month old infant and I also help out at my church daycare center whenever it is needed. I am fully certified for adult, child, and infant CPR, AED, and First Aid.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
It depends on the child and their age! Outside and nature exploration, going to kid-friendly shows and events. In-depth sensory play, lots of reading and story times, singing and learning songs, games of hide and seek, character play, etc. to enhance creativity and imagination. Focusing on mental development and literacy with things like writing activities and workbooks, puzzles, and alphabet scavenger hunts. Games like "I Spy", snack counting, sorting items, and spotting the difference activities for further mental stimulation and early math skills. Dance parties, child friendly yoga poses, obstacle courses, "Simon Says", and more to work on motor skills. For school-age kids, I love to observe and pay attention to their interests and what they gravitate towards.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It's amazing watching them grow into who they are going to become, figuring themselves and our world out with so much joy and curiosity. I love giving kids a safe space and being the person who makes them feel heard, seen, safe, and free to be whoever or whatever they want to be.
