More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am the oldest of five children so I always helped keep my siblings in line growing up. I also lived with my aunt and her husband for a few years when I was in high school so I helped look after their daughter when she was little; I did the same and helped out as much as possible when their son eventually came along.
Through the Grundy Area Vocational Center I actually took the early childhood education program my junior and senior years of high school. Here we learned about child development, how to make engaging activities in school, among other things. From there we were placed in classroom sites to put those newly learned skills to use! I worked in preschool and first grade classrooms, and even interned in a sixth-grade English class.
Finally, since I work in the dental field, we often have a lot of child patients come through our office. I love sating their curiosity about their appointment and doing anything else I can to make their visit as low stress as possible.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I would love to be a nanny because I find working with children super rewarding. They are so brilliant and full of wonder and as much as we teach them, I believe they can teach us a thing or two as well!
I had a lot of people I could look up to as a role model as a child myself and I want to be that person for others as well!

My experience with special needs children...
Through the Grundy Area Vocational Center’s ECE program I was placed into a special needs preschool class site where I was able to work with 8 children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I lived with my aunt I helped out around the house as well as caring for her daughter, who was a toddler at the time. After her son was born I helped out even more; whether it be watching over them while she ran errands, made dinner, cleaned up, or even going out and helping care for them while doing said errands/chores.
The best part of it for me was watching them grow up into the bright young kids they are now. My niece is now 10 years old, nephew is 7 this year. Although they no longer live in the state I do see them occasionally and it is such an amazing feeling to know that even now they can to an extent acknowledge how much time we had spent together.

Babysitter Available in Wilmington, IL: Layla R.
I’ve been working with kids for most of my family and friends all my life! I have two younger siblings and numerous younger cousins. I find joy in taking care of kids, majorly because they tend to love my sense of style and fun hair colors, as well as my love for fun activities and games. I cannot wait to have a family of my own, but for now, I make a job out of what I love! I can follow a dress code for parents who prefer extra modesty, and I am also willing to remove all piercings and jewelry possible if necessary for parental comfort.
