Hello, hello! My name is April and I like to call myself the "fun Aunt." I helped raise 3 children with my widowed sister and have always loved children myself. I really enjoy cooking, staying active, doing puzzles, brain teasers, doing math, gardening, outdoor activities and all things that scream energy. I'm a go getter with no children currently (waiting for the right time). I do work full-time, however would love to coordinate a date night, holiday your daycare is closed, or just a mommy/daddy day that's needed! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During my time with LA fitness, I specifically worked Mondays during the busiest Zumba class morning. We cared for babies from ages 3mo-12 years old. At one time I could recall, I have cared for a 4month, a 1 year old and an 8/9 month simultaneously while overseeing the playground with 15 other children of various ages. I take pride in my multitasking skills seeing as I helped nanny my sister's 3 children very close in age.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love baking with children!! Safe usually without the oven is preffered. I love their sense of pride and independence creating something special all by themselves (with your guidance ofcourse!!) I really enjoy board games. Going to the park is great or playing in the back yard with some toys and chalk. Weird science activities with borax or slime is always fun. Magic tricks like growing sugar crystals. All kind of neat activities to keep their brains turning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Love. A child can require tough love, gentle love, a love that reminds them of home. True, genuine acts of caring for a child all originate from love.

My experience with special needs children...

I have no experience caring for special needs children yet however my current major in college is disabilities and disorders <3

The most important part about being a nanny...

This one's tough... I think my favorite moment might be when my close friend needed me to watch her youngest. She was 8months or so and mommy had a 12 year gap from her other child so it was difficult relearning newborn ways again at this point. I was watching over the little girl and mommy came home during feeding time. She was fussy but finally fell fast asleep with the bottle in her mouth. I had her rocking on her side with one arm dangling towards the floor, almost in "breastfeed" pose with the bottle angled along my shoulder upwards. She's never successfully been able to rock her to sleep, in that pose especially! That day we practiced and she got to finally connect more and more with her and remember those comfy, warm holds the babies really enjoy. It was so special
