The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important aspect of being a nanny to me is listening to kids and taking the time to understand how they are feeling. When I slow down to listen, I am able to teach more effectively and allow trust to be created which is essential in developing!
My experience with special needs children...
My younger brother was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD when he was very young which allowed me to have a plethora of experience in caring for special needs children. Since he goes to a special needs school, I have been able to incorporate a lot of his skills used in school at home. For example, I taught my brother how to do breathing exercises in difficult situations and we identify what emotion he is feeling. I feel comfortable taking care of children with any needs and ultimately want them to feel as comfortable as possible with me while growing.
