More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve always been someone children naturally gravitate toward. I love seeing the world through their eyes their curiosity, imagination, and the way they can turn an ordinary day into an adventure. For me, childcare isn’t just about supervision, it’s about creating an environment where children feel safe enough to be themselves, express their emotions, learn, and have fun.
My experience has allowed me to care for children with a wide range of personalities, needs, and ages, including infants and children with special needs and sports. One thing I’ve learned is that every child wants to feel understood. Some children need extra patience, some need encouragement, and some simply need someone who will sit with them and listen. I take the time to build trust and understand what makes each child feel comfortable and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love finding fun and creative ways to keep children engaged, active, and smiling! Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts, baking sweet treats, reading stories, building forts, outdoor adventures, dance parties, imaginative play, and trips to the park. I enjoy getting involved rather than just supervising, whether that means becoming a princess for the day, helping build the world’s greatest pillow fort, or cheering on a child’s latest masterpiece.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most important parts of being a nanny is making children feel seen, valued, and safe. Every child deserves someone who will cheer them on, listen to their stories, comfort them when they’re upset, and celebrate the little victories that mean so much to them. I love being a positive part of a child’s day and creating an environment where they can learn, grow, be themselves, and have fun.
My experience with special needs children...
My role often involved supporting daily routines, encouraging independence, assisting with emotional regulation, participating in activities and sports, and creating a positive environment where children felt comfortable and supported. I learned how to adapt my approach based on each child’s unique personality and needs, whether that meant providing extra encouragement, maintaining consistent routines, or finding creative ways to keep them engaged and confident.
Working with children of different ages has also given me experience balancing developmental needs, from caring for infants and maintaining feeding and nap schedules to helping older children with activities, sports, homework, and building social skills. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with children, build trust, and create meaningful relationships while ensuring their safety and well-being.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite childcare moments was helping a young girl build the confidence to try something new. She was nervous about participating in cheerleading and group activities, so I spent time encouraging her, cheering her on, and reminding her that it was okay not to be perfect. As someone who has experience with sports and cheerleading, I know how important confidence, teamwork, and having a positive mindset can be. Watching her go from being hesitant to excited to participate and proud of herself was incredibly rewarding. Moments like that remind me that childcare isn’t just about keeping children safe. it’s about helping them believe in themselves and celebrating their growth along the way.

Babysitter Available in Los Angeles, CA: Silvia O.
My name is Silvia Oregel. I have three children—Mercedes, Matthew, and Shane—and I used to dedicate myself to them full-time. Currently, I work part-time at Ross while my youngest child is at school. For the past five years, I have also looked after a boy (starting when he was six); I still care for him on weekends when his mother asks me to. I used to look after him and his older brother—who is now 18—alongside my own children, taking them to museums, hiking, and outdoor activities like tennis and basketball, as well as to the beach. Now, I only look after the younger one on weekends when his mother requests it, as my own children have grown up (my youngest, Matthew, is 16). I am available to babysit this summer or whenever needed. Thank you. I enjoy babysitting because I love children and like taking them to activities their parents want for them—keeping them busy with things like sports. I am very friendly and energetic. I have a valid driver's license, and a car!
