I’ve gained experience caring for children through assistant coaching youth soccer and baseball, where I helped lead activities and support younger players. I also regularly care for younger children in my family. Through my child development class, I’ve had additional hands-on experience working with kids of ages 0-5, learning how to support their growth in a positive way.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing a variety of activities with kids depending on their interests and age. I love staying active with sports, playing outside, and doing fun games that keep them moving. I also enjoy board games, crafts, baking, and creative activities. For more relaxed time, movie nights, reading, or helping out with homework are always great options as well!
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me the most important part of being a nanny is building a personal relationship with the kids and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I think it’s important to be patient, have fun with them, and build strong relationship with both the parents and children.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with children with special needs through both my family and school. My cousin has autism and is nonverbal, which has taught me a lot about patience, compassion, and finding different ways to communicate and connect. I’ve also been actively involved in special education activities at my school and, through my child development class, have worked with programs that support students with special needs as they transition after high school. These experiences have helped me become more understanding, adaptable, and attentive to each child’s individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moments are the ones having fun and making memories with the kids. I especially love holiday moments like decorating the house, baking, and starting little traditions together. Seeing how excited they get and being part of those special memories is always the best part for me.
