More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at a daycare for 2 years and worked with new borns and children up the age of 5

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

There are so many fun things we can do together! For example, we could make our own play-dough and use it to create silly shapes and animals. We could also have a painting party, where we use our fingers, hands, and even feet to create colourful masterpieces. Going on scavenger hunts, playing dress-up, and building forts are other activities that I enjoy doing with children. I also love to read stories and sing songs with them, while encouraging them to participate and add their own unique twist. Whether we're baking cookies, playing board games, or simply enjoying a walk in the park, water table play time outside, digging outside in the dirt riding bikes and trycyles.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, the most important aspect of the job is to create a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for the children under their care. This involves developing a strong relationship with the children, providing a safe and hazard-free environment, engaging them in creative activities, encouraging positive behaviors, and maintaining open communication with the parents. Meeting the children's physical, emotional, and developmental needs on a daily basis is crucial for their growth and well-being.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked closely with the parents and therapists to develop a personalized care plan which addressed the child specific needs and abilities. I educated myself on their condition to have a better understanding their needs to ensure providing the best care. Made sure the environment was safe and free of all hazards. We used positive reinforcement encouraging them and praising the child's efforts and accomplishments which I noticed motivated them to continue making progress. I had to be more patient and flexible and work at their pace, focussed on using simple sentences and sounding out words. I also encouraged their independence and used visual aids and other communication tools.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have had so many favourite moments that it's hard to choose just a few! Here are some of the most memorable.Seeing a child accomplish a new skill like completing a puzzle.Watching a child's creativity come to life: Whether it's through drawing, painting, or playing make-believe, it's amazing to see a child's imagination come to life. I love watching their faces light up as they create something unique and special. One of the best things about working with children is their infectious laughter. Whether we're playing a game or telling jokes, sharing a laugh with a child can instantly brighten your day.Working with a child over time and seeing their progress is incredibly rewarding. Whether it's improving their language skills, developing more confidence, or learning new things, it's amazing to see how far they've come. Developing a bond with a child is one of the most special aspects of being a nanny. Seeing the child grow and develop and sharing that experience with them.

Lauren D. - Seeking Work in San Diego

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in San Diego, CA: Lauren D.

I love caring for little ones and helping them grow into confident, kind, and happy little humans! I currently am part of a nanny share where unfortunately one of the families is moving out of state. The other family and I are hoping to find another family in the UTC area to join the nanny share. My current nanny kid is a 16 month old girl who is very good with other kids. Her parents would love for her to continue to practice socializing with children her age. We are looking for a family that is willing to host. My current family lives in a smaller 2BR condo and work from home, so our ideal family would have a larger space for the kids to play in.
