My name is Ashantie Gentles. I am the eldest child out of 9 and was born in Kingston, Jamaica. I came to the U.S at 3 years old and resided in New Haven since. I love to care for others because I know how hard finding someone trustworthy and loving is. I ALWAYS go above and beyond and will do whatever it takes to ensure safety, love, and comfortability in any environment. I have experience as a Nanny for 2 years and I have worked as a caregiver for the elderly for almost 3 years. I love taking care of those who need it and anyone in my care is safe. I like connecting to individuals in my care by finding something that we both have in common and bonding over that. I love trying new things and exploring. I love to cook, I love doing hair and I also love cleaning. I am very good with setting boundaries and communicating with families. My goal in life is to go to school to be an LPN and then eventually go to school to be an RN. Hiring me as a Nanny will be the best Choice to make. ;)

I love doing small arts and craft activities and enjoy outdoor activities such as playing catch and maybe even tossing a Frisbee or building a snowman.

The most important part about being a nanny is having the ability to be emotionally intelligent because without this I wouldn't be able to cope with many kids because children are very sensitive and curious and they've only lived once so being emotionally intelligent creates patience and peace in your environment.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have much experience professionally with caring for special needs children, but I do have family members with special needs whom I have cared for under direct orders from their parents/guardians.

Every moment with my kids are my favorite moment because I get to be their for them at all times and I get to watch them grow up to be an amazing person.
