Activities that I enjoy doing with children include playing outside, cooking/baking, playing games that involve basic learning such as colors, shapes, spelling ect. I also enjoy doing crafts and water activities!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny for me is the well being and comfort in a child/children. A lot of kids when they first meet a new nanny they might be shy, or a bit scared because this is a new person to them, and this person is in charge of this child’s life, and well-being. My first priority in being a nanny is always making sure the child/children feel safe and comfortable around me. It can be scary for the child sometimes so I’m always making sure I’m asking questions on what I can do for them to make them feel as comfortable as possible and being gentle and kind! And most importantly making sure they know I will protect them at all costs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
If I had to pick my favorite nanny moment it would definitely have to be when I nannied for a sweet family of 3. The family had expressed to me that their 5 year old son was very nervous around new people due to bad anxiety.They had a difficult time finding someone that their son was comfortable with. During our interview I had spoken to their son for a couple of minutes and although he was very shy at first, he slowly warmed up to me. From that point on we grew a very strong bond, I went on to be his nanny for about a year and half. Putting his parents mind at ease, and making their son comfortable after many attempts with other people, was a very rewarding moment.
