More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My first experience with caring for children was in middle school at a volunteer program my teacher referred me for to work with special education children. From that moment on i knew what my purpose was and what i wanted to do in my life. I’m the oldest sibling of 4 kids aged 18-22 and we have all been close friends my whole life, so I’ve had a nurturing and peacemaking spirit for as long as i can remember. Growing up I babysat for friends aged infant-10+ years old. Throughout high school, I worked on-and-off in after school care for elementary school children as a volunteer. I currently work at a montessori school in Parkville and am looking to start nannying! :)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My number one would have to be play time! At my daycare job we have a routine so the children have a stable environment and generally know what to expect each day. Reading books, Activity time, Outside Play, Inside Toy Play, Circle Time, and Dance Play are all some of my favorites.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think being someone my kids can expect to see everyday that will comfort, nurture, and that they know will be there to take care of them until the parents come is the most fulfilling thing for me. It’s also important to me that a routine is set so kids know what to expect each day.
My experience with special needs children...
I was in a volunteer program in middle school for around 6 months where I spent time interacting with and bringing joy to special needs kids once a week. It was very fulfilling. I also helped the teachers with projects for the kids.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments as a daycare worker would have to be the contagious laughs we share back and forth and watching the kids learn! It’s amazing when I watch something click for a kid and see them enjoy what they learn. I also appreciate how much I can learn from them myself.
