Activities I enjoy doing with children...
If it is a day where the weather is not cooperating, I love staying indoors and doing crafts, baking, having popcorn-movie days, and singing and dancing around the house. On days where the weather is nicer, I love being outside and playing at the parks or going on walks. Sporadic trips to get ice cream are always nice too! Even something as simple as sitting outside and blowing bubbles or playing tag is lots of fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing in my eyes about being a nanny is the communication and the patience. I love openly communicating everything with parents AND children. Things can get confusing without communication. As for patience, I know that children can act out and misbehave at times, but I also believe that with the right patience and communication, any child can feel heard, appreciated, and the problem can be solved.
My experience with special needs children...
At a local daycare and preschool I worked at, I had a child in my class with high functioning autism that was also non-verbal. I’ve also worked with children with down syndrome
The most important part about being a nanny...
There’s no single moment I could chose, but one of my favorite things about nannying is just being able to see kids eyes light up with so much joy and happiness. Seeing them get more comfortable with me and growing everyday is such a heartwarming feeling.
