Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have an algorithm of experience caring for children. I have catered to a variety of families & needs over the years. My experience caring for small children spans almost two decades.
I began caring for children within my own family. As the oldest of 27 grandchildren & a natural maternal instinct, began helping to care for my younger cousins, in essence, a "mother's helper" of sorts. I have always had a natural gravitational pull to children & have been a very nurturing & empathetic individual for as long as I can remember.
I began babysitting for my younger cousins & babysat for families in my childhood neighborhood. I went on to care for multiples including twins & quints. I have worked with families who have come for work for a short span of time sporadically to families here for a wedding to caring for children in 24 hour shifts on a regular, full time basis. I have been a "baby nurse," coming in to help new parents & a newborn nanny to several infants and the list goes on...

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outdoors and outdoor play whether it be playing in the yard with toys and balls or playing a game or team sport to going to the park. I LOVE doing fun crafts and activities. I believe in engaging in a stimulating manner and making things not only fun but educational. Activities will always vary by children's ages and attention span and I always take that into consideration. I love engaging with them and believe that reading to them is so important!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The bond that you are able to form with the children you care for. That is the most rewarding feeling. Whether it be the first time you realize that they trust you or it be the smile on their face that radiates their happiness because of something that I helped them do or accomplish. I have kids that I cared for when they were toddlers remember me watching them and how much they enjoyed having me as a babysitter and it is so nice and heartwarming to see!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The first time I went to pick up a little boy that had some developmental delays, was a preemie and had experienced some trauma. He was very isolating, non trusting and non verbal at this time and I went in his little classroom to get him and once he realized who I was, he hesitated to come with me and after much patience, he obliged. After we walked out hand in hand, he reached his little hands up and I carried him the three blocks home as he held my neck with all his strength and nestled his head into my neck and I knew and could physically feel that he felt safe. I hugged him even tighter in return as I caressed his hair as I whispered what a sweet boy he is and the rest was history as we had three years of adventures and beautiful memories.
