Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I absolutely adore doing art and music with children. I have an abundance of pencils, markers, and paints that I would love to share with artsy kiddos. I love seeing kids’ creativity shine! Any time I can get kids dancing, singing, or otherwise showing off their creative talents is a great time.
As an education major, it’s no surprise that I also love to read — picture books, chapter books, and especially stories that students write themselves.
In the summer time, I love to play and explore outside with children. My favorite memories from my previous childcare jobs are of practicing cartwheels with little gymnasts, taking kids on field trips to splash parks, and watching the kids follow frogs across the playground.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is helping children grow into the best version of themselves. I love watching children discover what they are passionate about, what they love to do, and what kind of a friend they want to be to others. I have been most impacted by watching students grow over several years. I get the privilege of teaching them invaluable lessons of kindness, gratitude, empathy, and curiosity, and in turn, they teach me the same.
My experience with special needs children...
I was very involved with my church’s special needs and disability ministry when I was in high school. Our program served students of all abilities. The 5-8 age range is where I spent most of my time. I have also volunteered (minimally) at Ability Tree in Siloam Springs. But most of my experience with children with special needs has been in inclusive after-school settings.
