More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently a Senior Education major at UCSC, taking several courses with a focus on early childhood education, I also have been a nanny for several different families for the past several years and worked a lot of one-time babysitting jobs, gaining a lot of experience with several ages of children from 6-months-old up to 13-years-old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing outdoor activities like going to parks, going on hikes, and going on all sorts of adventures. Indoor activities can also be fun with a large focus on arts & crafts style activities, but provided board games and puzzles I feel are a great way to exercise young minds, although these are some general activities, I really love to style the activities around a child's specific interests and areas they wish/need to work on develop as a blanket approach is not one size fits all, especially with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is the ability to aid in the growth of the children I watch. Watching them develop and flourish is the best and most rewarding part about being a nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have the largest experience with special needs children, in my senior year of high school I assisted in a special needs classroom which was amazingly rewarding and some of my favorite experiences, since then I have not had the chance to gain much more experience in this area, but am always willing to learn, grow, and help any child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was probably when the little 4-year-old boy I had been watching for four months asked if he could tell me he loved me because he knows me now (his mom had me work on him with saying I like you to people he does not know yet as a way to express himself). When he asked me this I am not afraid to say I definitely cried and it was one of the most touching moments I've ever felt and my favorite moment so far. I watched him 3-4 days a week for 14 hour days so I spent a lot of time with him.
