One of the community initiatives my family started was providing complimentary hair and makeup services for attendees of The Best Prom Ever, a special needs prom hosted at Sparta High School. From middle school through high school and into my early twenties, I volunteered alongside my family to help participants feel confident, celebrated, and beautiful on their special night. It was an incredibly meaningful experience that allowed me to build lasting relationships, serve my community, and witness the joy of creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. After many years of growing the program, we proudly passed it on so it could continue serving the community for years to come.
