A little bit about me

Hello! I’m Blake, a creative and nurturing nanny with over 5 years of childcare experience, including more than a year as a professional nanny for children under 3. I’m CPR and first-aid certified for all ages and have experience with newborns and overnight care. I’ve also worked as an assistant daycare teacher at a nature-based Montessori preschool. I’m available for a long-term, full-time, or nanny share position starting in November.

I love getting kids outdoors and teaching them about our local plants and animals. I also enjoy sharing art, cooking, and second-language basics like Spanish and ASL. Outside of work, I’m a trained Doula and am passionate about continuing my education in areas like aromatherapy and infant massage.

The most important part about being a nanny...

In my experience, the most important qualities of a nanny are patience, understanding, and a nurturing approach. I love using Montessori-inspired methods to help children learn through hands-on exploration and independence. My goal is to give kids the tools they need to make thoughtful choices, foster self-confidence, and create a safe, supportive environment where they feel free to make mistakes and grow. Each day, I strive to empower children with a love of learning and self-discovery in everything we do together.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny is seeing my little ones apply what we’ve learned together. I love teaching them about our local plants and animals, and it’s so rewarding when they start spotting different species on their own. It’s wonderful to see their curiosity and understanding grow! Another joy is introducing them to a second language, which becomes like a little secret code we share. Moments like these remind me why I love doing what I do!
