I have experience in childcare as a former full time nanny and I also did date night babysitting throughout high school for many relatives and family friends. I have the most wraith toddlers but am comfortable with any age group!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love field trips to explora, the zoo/aquarium, parks, pools, libraries, etc. I also love setting up activities like crafts, sensory activities, art projects, and anything else kids acab enjoy and be creative with. I also enjoy doing “themed weeks” where each week we pick a theme (Examples of themes include space week, nature week, Disney week, and many more!) and do both entertaining and educational activities related to that theme like reading books, theme-related field trips, or watching movies that relate! I also like to cook and bake with older children, and love to facilitate age appropriate activities for kids of all ages!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Rather than “watching” or “managing” children, I see nannying as being there to support and encourage the child as the explore the world through their own eyes. I like to let them be imaginative and adventurous and I am there to make sure they are cared for while they explore and are doing so safely!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My first nanny kid was a year old and I spent weeks trying to teach them to “dance” by playing Disney music, cartoon, music, all kinds of baby music and nothing worked. Until one day I jokingly played 2000’s club music instrumentals and they finally danced to that!
