I have been a babysitter for 6 years for infants, toddlers, and elementary school aged children. I have also coached volleyball for youth sports for 5 years, and coach at a high school as well.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As a coach, I have learned that children that are active are usually very happy! Letting kids be creative (drawing, coloring, puzzles, painting, singing, etc) is important as well. Going on walks and being outside is super important, as well. I have some experience in helping with developmental skills (talking, reading, writing, motor, social, cognitive, and emotional skills, etc).
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think that as a nanny and a coach, its my responsibility to help raise these children to be loving, strong, caring, and good people. That starts with setting a good example, and helping them to learn how to deal with life; to love life! They need to learn to problem solve, to adapt and learn. They are also children, and children need to learn how to have fun, and JUST BE KIDS. Keeping the children safe, and making sure they feel safe is always a top priority!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was babysitting a 2 year old boy, and I was working with him on putting his sentences together, and he finally learned how to say "I love you" , and we surprised his parents with that when then picked him up! Mom was super excited! Very cute moment.
