Hi, my name’s Ayana Amoja. I’m 23 and a current college junior. Throughout high school, I babysat for elementary-age children. Furthermore, I worked at a private school working with kids ages 5-14 as well as a part-time nanny to 3 and 5-year-olds, ages 5-12 in a public school setting and with ages 2-5 at two different preschools. While cooking lunch for the kids, we were talking about different foods. I said at one point lightheartedly, "Ooh, I hate brussel sprouts," and the 5-year-old girl responded with the utmost concern in her eyes, "You shouldn't hate things. Hate has no place in my heart." I cherish that moment because it was such a simple idea that applies so much in life. And I love moving in life only with the intentions of love.
