More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My experience includes working as a Youth Counselor at Woodward Academy, caring for children and teens with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. I have also provided in-home care for children, including infants, and individuals with health conditions, from babies under one to adults in their 80s. I am CPR, First Aid, and AED certified, as well as Ukeru de-escalation certified. As a mom and Psychology student graduating December 19th, I understand child development, behavior, and emotional needs. I am patient, nurturing, dependable, and attentive. I believe every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and understood. I take pride in creating a calm, positive environment where children can thrive, giving parents peace of mind knowing their children are genuinely cared for, not just watched.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing activities that help children learn, explore, and have fun! Depending on their age, I enjoy reading stories, doing arts and crafts, sensory play, singing, dancing, spending time outdoors, going on little adventures, and playing educational games. I also love incorporating activities that encourage creativity, independence, and emotional development. With infants, I enjoy tummy time, reading, music, and age-appropriate sensory activities to support their growth. I believe the best activities are those that meet each child where they are, spark their curiosity, and help them feel confident, happy, and loved!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is making sure a child feels safe, loved, and understood, even when their parents aren't around. I think it's so much more than just watching a child or keeping them entertained. It's learning their little personalities, understanding their needs, being patient on the hard days, and celebrating even the smallest milestones. As a mom myself, I know how hard it can be to trust someone else with your child, and I would never take that responsibility lightly. I want parents to feel at ease knowing their babies are being cared for the way I would want someone to care for my own. Every child is different, and I truly believe that with the right patience, love, and understanding, every child can thrive
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was caring for a little one who was having a hard time with separation and kept getting upset whenever their parent left. Instead of rushing them to stop crying, I sat with them, offered comfort, and gently introduced their favorite toys and a little activity to help them feel safe. Eventually, they started smiling, playing, and bringing me toys to show me. By the end of the day, they were comfortable enough to reach for me when they needed reassurance. Seeing that trust develop reminded me how important patience, consistency, and understanding are when caring for children. Sometimes the biggest accomplishment is simply helping a child feel safe enough to be themselves.
