Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a nanny for a wonderful family in Austin, TX. While there, I cared for two boys (1 toddler & 1 infant). I've also worked at a "play-care" and supervised children at ages of 1-8yrs. Lastly, I have experience babysitting as needed for children mostly around 2yrs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy getting to visit museums, parks, swimming, and going for walks. While at home, I enjoy doing crafts, playing pretend, building forts, singing & dancing, and reading/learning.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for one child with autism. He loved getting to go to the toy store and the science museum. He was very sweet, smart, and passionate about car facts! I would care for him most of the day until he later started attending preschool for part of the day. I drove him to school, to do activities, to swim lessons, doctor appointments, etc. I also supervised him while he had virtual therapy appointments. Like most kids, he would need extra support around big emotions and was very picky with food.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I remember when I first started caring for one little boy. He was nearly 3 going on 30. He asked me to sing the ABC's with him. I started singing and he stopped me to tell me I was doing it wrong. I asked him if he could show me how I was supposed to do it. He then started naming makes or models of cars that corresponded with each letter of the alphabet. I was so impressed! That's where I learned about Alfa Romeo's.
