More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Oh man .. I started out assisting my neighbor with her in-home daycare and babysitting for tons of families. I then became an assistant in an elementary school behavioral class followed by a preschool. I've been a youth soccer, basketball and rugby coach as well, including running a program called UP soccer which was a camp for developmentally unique children of all ages. I volunteered at the Vancouver School for the Blind (older kids but I learned so much) and various summer programs such as the Boys and Girls Club and even some VBS. And of course nannies for many families most of which I still provide care for or even just visit regularly :)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Exploring nature - I'm really into rocks, plants and clouds. Art, reading, building/creating whatever the imagination can stir up, anything to do with music, baking, anything physical whether that be bike rides, playing catch or running in circles, board games, science experiments, trying new things and SO MUCH MORE!

The most important part about being a nanny...
There are way too many I could go on forever... here's one though that meant the world to me.
I began watching E when he was 4 months old. I'd rock him and sing to him every day when putting him down for his nap. The song I sang most often was Three Little Birds by Bob Marley. One day when he was probably about 2 years old he was in my arms looking into my eyes and he began softly singing with me. He knew every word and it literally gives me goosebumps still to remember that moment.

I am a 47 yr old mother of 3. I have 2 girls 21 and 17 and a 6 yr old son. I am originally from Washington, but I recently relocated from Sasebo, Japan to this new area.
Over the course of three years, I lived on a navy base and worked with several families. It was there that I received my CPR/First Aid training.
During Covid, I worked with parents and teachers to create a schedule to help teach the children. When I wasn't working with the families, I had an internship with an on-base councilor.
I've worked with families with children ranging in age from 9 days to 6 years. I have prior experience working with special needs children.

I’ve always loved being around kids. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old. Right now I’m a full time nanny for a family with 4 girls. They are full of energy and brighten up my day! I enjoy doing fun outings, crafts, and being active with the kids all while making sure the kids are in safe and comfortable environment and also being on a reasonable schedule. Recently I moved farther from the family I work for and am looking for a job closer to home, in Vancouver. I’m able to adapt to how the family wants me to work with their children!
