A little bit about me

I am a 21 year old experience child care worker. I started working in childcare when I was 15 and worked for my mom’s daycare for about 3 years. I also was a nanny for twins for about a year. I did some customer service jobs for a while then ended up back in childcare as a Behavioral Technician for toddlers with special needs. I have been trained in CPR and first aid for adults and children. I have a car and am licensed to commute to and from your home and in case of emergencies.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for my mom’s day care for 3 years until covid hit. I have also worked as a teacher and nanny for 4 year old twins.

I am currently a behavioral technician and provide developmental (fun) support for special needs/high support needs children (12 and under).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing sensory play with children including sensory toys and physical activity (dancing, chasing, jump rope, etc.)

One of my favorite things to do with kiddos on a rainy day is make a puppet show (don’t worry I use my own supplies) and let my kiddos share their big imaginative world.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making connections with children to further their development, contribute to their everyday experiences, and be able to foster fun and meaningful relationships in their families. Being a child care provider means supporting, not just the child, but the parents as well so that they can support their children in every way possible.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been a behavioral technician since March 2025. I have had 6 different clients ranging from 2 to 12 years old.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Hitting that point where my kiddos feel safe and comfortable, when I am not a stranger any more but someone they can rely on for safety and fun activities.

Kaleina A. - Seeking Work in San Diego

Live-In Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in San Diego, CA: Kaleina A.

Hey! My name is Kaleina, I'm an 18 year old girl, born and raised in California. Growing up, I've looked after my little siblings, who are now the age of 9 and 7. My brother has always had trouble processing things the same way other children do, and we are currently trying to get him a diagnosis (most likely autism and ocd). While I have never looked after children other than my siblings, I have always wanted to work in childcare because of it. I think becoming a nanny would be a great start. I am patient, understanding, and will treat your child/children with great care, as if it were my younger sibling.

Julia S. - Seeking Work in San Diego

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in San Diego, CA: Julia S.

I am a current educator, previous camp counselor, LONG TIME babysitter (10+ years), who has come to the recent realization that I can't visualize a future self who isn't working with children.

Described by a previous employer as "a real life Disney Princess", I have a sunny, fun-loving disposition, and will always be interested in playing WITH not just watching, the children I'm working with.

That said, with years of experience under my belt, I know how to encourage good behavior, and have a good understanding of developmental needs for different age groups.

I'm looking for full-time employment this upcoming fall as I navigate post-pandemic world as a 2020 college graduate.
