More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 3 nieces and my baby cousin that I helped raised since he was 6 months old; he’s about to turn 11 years old. My responsibilities was to cook, clean, help with learning their numbers, abcs and etc. All while their parents was working.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love the outdoors. I enjoy painting, drawing, coloring, and I also love a day/night in watching movies. I love how their minds think and love the adorable questions they ask.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The bonds I create with the kids and seeing the parents being able to just relax and enjoy their own little time.

My experience with special needs children...

I have 2 people close to me that have special needs children. While it can be difficult, I personally think they can be the sweetest. It’s very important to learn and observe their different ways of communicating. Some children with special needs perceive sensory input in different ways and may be unable to verbalize discomfort. I think the whole point of working with special needs children and teaching is to use a variety of methods to help another person understand and master new skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was a very nonchalant and didn’t like physical affection type of person. (Keep in mind I was newly out the army during that time and was taking care of my battle buddy’s kids while she was deployed) I was helping one of the kids I nannied with their homework, when i helped them get the right answer on one of the difficult questions, they leaned on me with a sigh of relief and I didn’t panic or felt weird; I felt love and just accepted it and congratulated them even more.
