Hello, there! My name is Bev. Now in my 50s, I have had years of experience caring for children. My husband, Gary, and I have been foster parents - one long term care of a special needs boy. I have also been an educator for 28 years, having taught preschool (ages 3 to 5 in one classroom, avg of 17 students with an aid), second grade, and first grade. I was also a nanny to a one year boy and later on, his sister after she was born. I also have experience gained in caring for a 3 month old. I would love the opportunity to serve your family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

28 years of teaching experience for ages 3 to 8 years. I am currently teaching first grade for a private school.
Managed and taught 17 three to five year olds for 12 years, with an aid. They ALl took naps! A miracle! Haha!
Foster parent in IL and MO. Longest placement was a nonverbal developmentally and physically delayed 4 year old with a cleft pallette. Ask me for the full story if interested.

My experience with special needs children...

Fostered a 4 year old. He was nonverbal,under sized, showed no emotion... completely neglected. We enrolled him in public preschool, worked with his teachers on evaluation and setting an IEP, and loved on him a bunch. By the time his dad got custody of him 10 months later, he had grown to normal size for a now 5 year old and was laughing, talking, running around and playing like any normal 5 year old. His dad was in complete amazement of the major changes in his son. It was such a blessing to see his transformation.
