My childcare experience began with nannying for families during the 13 years I lived in Houston, TX, with my longest placement lasting 10 years. As a nanny, I transported children from school to home and extracurricular activities, prepared meals, assisted with homework, attended school plays and cheerleading events, and provided overnight care. I have cared for children with parents both in and out of the home and adapted to each family’s routines and needs.
I have also directed after-school and summer camp programs for children ages 3 through early teens. As a co-director of Head Start programs, I gained experience working with children from various socioeconomic backgrounds and learning styles while collaborating with school district staff and other professionals to support children and families.

I enjoy anything active—sports, bike rides, walks, and yoga—as well as board games and puzzles. I love a good chit-chat, hearing about what interests children and what’s happening in their world. I also enjoy reading together and creating simple moments where we can have fun, be curious, and enjoy each other’s company.

The most important part of being a nanny is showing up consistently for the child. I want to become a safe space where they feel comfortable sharing, asking questions, being themselves, and growing into who they are.
My experience with special needs children...
I have both professional and personal experience caring for children on the autism spectrum, children with ODD, and children who have experienced traumatic brain injuries. My experience has taught me to be patient, understanding, and flexible, while recognizing that every child has different needs and responds to care and support in their own way.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when a four-year-old girl returned from vacation and excitedly told me she was “turning brown like me.” Her innocence made me laugh, but more than anything, it filled me with love and appreciation. At such a young age, she was looking at me with admiration and showing me, in her own sweet way, that I was someone she wanted to emulate. It was a beautiful reminder of how much children observe us and the impact we can have simply by how we show up for them.
