More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked in both traditional and non tradition childcare centers as well as after school or recreational youth programs. Additionally I am Mental Health First Aid Trained through BTSNM. My preferred teaching philosophies include Montessori and Waldorf teaching practices but am open to any preferred teaching method. I am glad to answer any questions you might have on my background:)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am very active and believe in the benefits of physical activity when teaching. Some activies I enjoy are soccer, biking, swimming, hiking exploring etc. Also inddoor activities such such as music, story telling, cooking, stretching/kid yoga, art etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matter most to me as a nanny is that the children in my care are safe, healthy, happy and engaged. I want them to feel comfortable in the environment I provide to be able to learn and grow. For this to happen I value that the parents equally have to trust to me support and care for their little one. When children are in my care I treat them like my own and can assure I always do my best to keep your little one at their best :)

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience in providing care and education to children of many differing abilities including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorders, sensory and processing disorders, dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, down syndrome etc.

Needing diabetic care/support, or breathing/lung care .

The most important part about being a nanny...

Favorite moment as educator was when a little girl of mixed race was struggling to love her hair as she did not have the same type of hair as her mommy. She would come with her hair in the same hairstyle because her mom struggled to put her hair in other hairstyles because it was so thick and curly. The little would become very upset because she wanted her to be able to be changed like the other little girls. I did not want the the little girl to be sad or feel badly about her hair so I asked the mom if it was okay if I did her hair the next day and the mom was thankful for my offer. The next day the mom whose own hair was in 2 braids brought hair accessories and products. I put combed and styled the little girls hair into two braids so she could match her mom. Both the little girl and mom were so happy and both the mom and I were brought to tears because we wanted to see the little girl happy.
