My previous experience included nannying a toddler over the summer. and I currently work part time in daycare after school with the school I currently attend. I normally work with ages 3-6 and on average care for about 18-27 kids per day.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to read them stories, have dance parties, play any activities the child has around the house. Inside play I'd like to do educational games or just anything that seems fun to them. We could play with play dough, blocks, barbies, cars, ect.. For outside play we could play with different kinds of sports balls or run around, play with bubbles maybe go to the park if the weather is nice. Or if it snowed we could also, if the kid has the appropriate clothing go out, and play in the snow for a few minutes.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To put the childs needs first. It is often very hard for children/ toddlers to control there emotions since they are so new to this world. My goal as a nanny is to create a safe space where they are able to express whatever emotions they may feel while keeping a level head myself. The children's priorities must always come first. Whether that be emotionally, physically, or mentally.
