I love taking walks with kids, playing their favorite games, and cooking. I have learned that doing things with less stimulation for kids allows them to open up and build connection more easily, talking the whole way on a walk, chatting about their day, or asking questions that fill their curiosity. Times where I learn more about the children I work with are my absolute favorite.

The most important part of being a nanny is the connection between child and adult. Children should always have several adults they feel comfortable confiding in, going to for help, and trusting in their home. Building connections like this through consistency is an amazing part of nannying and is often overlooked.
