A little bit about me

Have worked in elementary schools with special needs children. As well as had in home patients with special needs. And for the last 7 months I have had a private case, watching a little boy full time everyday since he was 3 months old. As well as daily cleaning and lots of chores around the house to help the parents as they both work from home. Have also worked with an infant that had a cleft palette so I understand and listen to the needs and wants for each family, whether breast or bottle feeding I always know that a strict schedule is very important and always do what the family wants, not what I want. I want any family to know their kids will be in great hands . I take care of the kids as if they were my own, and always feel like I am part of the family for whatever family have worked for. I have a letter of recommendation from my last family as well.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Special Ed aide at a few different elementary schools grades 1-5. And I have had in home cases with children who were autistic, non verbal, tubal fed, had specific diet and allergies. Transferring from bed to wheelchair. Assisted with physical therapy exercises. My current patient is about to be a year old and I have been with them since she was 3 months, and she has a cleft palette

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to parks, watching movies, playing board games, baking, swimming, all of the above depending on the interest of each specific child

The most important part about being a nanny...

Knowing that the family can rely on me to take good care of their children. And I am not only going to take good care of the kids but the house as well and making sure the kids have good healthy meals, won’t be feeding them junk all day, because as their growing they need good foods for good strong bones

My experience with special needs children...

I worked in the special needs classes at 3 different elementary schools with the moderate to severe autistic, both verbal and non verbal. I helped the special Ed kiddos get included in play time activities during recess which helped build confidence and better attitude with some. Also my nephew who just turned 3 is non verbal autistic and so I’ve grown to see the potential and amazing heart behind kids with special needs. Yes they may need a little extra tlc but it’s all worth it to me to see these kids thrive

The most important part about being a nanny...

Getting to see my current baby walk for the first time, and try homemade baby food, and during the time I was with him I was able to teach him a few words in sign language. He wasn’t hearing impaired, his mom just wanted him to know sign language as well while he was learning everything, and he actually ended up signing “more” before he could say the word “more”
