I really will cater to the personality type of the child I am working with. For example, I have had kids that love sports that I will spend all day in the yard with, kids that I will play barbies with, or times where we just sit and watch shows, etc. I am comfortable doing whatever the child is used to/ enjoys!

Obviously, safety is my priority and is most important. Second, it is important to make the child feel excited to see you. I always try to make it a fun time when I come around (unless they're tired or just want to chill out).

One time I was babysitting a group of 10 kids, and to get them all on the same page and not running around separately, I had the idea to make an iMovie with them. They came up with all of the ideas, costumes, and everything for their movie (I just held the iPad and filmed for them). They were ecstatic to put their movie on the TV and show their parents when they got home later that night. It was cute to see them show their parents something they were all so proud of and had fun doing!
