I was a camp counselor for ages ranging from 3-12 years old and I was a swim instructor for Minnetonka Community Ed working with kids ranging from 6-14 years old. In addition to these positions, I have been babysitting and nannying on-and-off for the last 6 years.

I love taking kids for engaging nature walks or looking for other fun activities to do outside for some exercise and fresh air. When inside, I love finding easy crafts to do, play games, or let the kid pick what toys they want to play with and participate however they need me to in order to make things entertaining.

Being able to communicate with the child you are working with. Understanding what they are feeling in a particular situation or what they need is crucial to having good relationship with them where they trust you and feel safe.

Watching "The Little Mermaid" with one of my nanny-kids who was only six and had never seen the movie before. She instantly fell in love with Ariel, and her and I bonded over Ariel being our favorite Disney princess. For my 14th Birthday, she gave me a Little Mermaid Barbie doll and I still have it.
