Hello! My name is Brooklyn Colwell. I love singing and music, sports and working out at the gym, reading, and volunteering when I can. I have a special place in my heart for helping people. I have some college experience, but am not currently in college. I plan to attend college again when I am more financially stable to become a child psychologist . I have 50+ hours of volunteer work experience with children and well as babysitting jobs under my belt, and I overall enjoy caring for and being around children. I currently work as a nanny for a 4 year old boy on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have a very creative mind mixed with a patience and calm demeanor. I am willing to be employed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Weekends.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 50 hours of volunteer work experience and an elementary school and have had babysitting jobs. I also am currently employed as a nanny.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love anything to do with education, I am a good teacher to the little ones. I can play sports outside with them or board games, I enjoy helping them build things, playing with their toys. I also love music and to sing to children if that is something they enjoy. I honestly just enjoy doing anything with children as long as they want to do it and are having fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping children grow and learn.

My experience with special needs children...

I have family members that I have cared for with special needs, including two children on the spectrum. I have babysat for children on the spectrum as well. I was a babysitter for a few months as well for a woman with very low-functioning autism that had the mental abilities of a toddler. I taught her lots of new things, but unfortunately a few instances occurred that forced me to leave. I have been employed for the past 6 months as a nanny for an autistic and nonverbal 4 year old boy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I babysit my friend’s son sometimes while she is at work. He is a sweet and hilarious two year old boy. It was only the second time I had met him and he immediately comes and gives me a hug. He says, “I missed you Brookie!” That’s what his mama calls me but it’s not my name, and I just thought it was the sweetest moment!
