I’m terms of outdoor activities, I feel that when playing outside it should be more on the lines of free play. One of my most memorable nanny moments was the moment that the little boy I nanny finally learned that I was there to help him. He used to always be extremely stubborn with me and would never let me help him with anything. Until one day I think he finally realized that “hey maybe she isn’t as bad as I’m making her seem.” One morning he told me he hated me and his dad said “well now I know that’s not true because you always tell me how much you miss her when she leaves.” So it’s just heartwarming to know that although they might be stubborn with me sometimes, that activities and lessons that I am teaching them, are in fact having a positive impact on them.
