While living in Saint George I nannied two families. The ages ranged from 15 to 2 years old. I would cook, bake, clean, run errands, organize, and help with whatever was needed. I loved working for them but had to quit due to a new school schedule. The second family I nannied for had a three year old and a six year old. I watched them all day in the summer. We did a lot of different activities to keep them entertained: played outdoors, art projects, reading, playing with toys, swimming, etc. It was so fun for me and I learned so much.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked in a residential mental hospital for adolescent children. They were in their early teens but they all had different mental health challenges. I learned a lot from working with them and helping them with their special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would always love when the kids I nannied would invite me to their birthday parties. It was a small thing but for me it meant that I had built a relationship with them.
