Growing up in a large family, I learned quickly how to care for in-coming siblings, to babysit, clean and enjoy life in a family setting. I became a babysitter for professors and coworkers as I grew, and then a live-in Nanny for my cousin’s 10 year old son, for 2 years.

I love all things nature, art/craft, imaginative play and exploration related. I make homemade playdough, coming up with games, enjoy reading, walking, etc.. Child-development continues to be an area of interest for me and I’ve found such joy in partnering with kids as they process and grow.

My experience with special needs children...
As a young adult, I spent a few weeks with my cousin’s family, who had adopted two children with down-syndrome. I become a a part of the family and enjoyed finding ways to connect with the kiddos and engage with their life-activities. I am familiar with neuro-divergence and have an 8 year old kiddo with ADHD. We work together on breathing techniques for self regulation, connection tools for healthy management of big emotional outbursts, and I take responsibility for regulating myself to create a safe space for him to learn and grow.

Watching any kiddo in nature. They seem to often reset and connect with their surroundings with such earnest and focused energy.
