More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am the oldest of 3 which means I have been a built-in babysitter for most of my life. On top of that, I have been babysitting for other families since I was 14 and have extensive experience with babysitting and also nannying. Additionally, I have coached field hockey and worked as a camp counselor. I have experience with children from infancy up to age 14. Most recently I nannied/babysat for a family that started with 2 children and grew to 4 by the time I moved here to Florida. I worked with them for 6 years and still keep in touch regularly. I have also worked for babysitting placement services as well as other families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything outdoors. I grew up outdoors as a child and believe there are many benefits to having some outside time. Games!! I love to play games - cards, board games, anything! I am very creative and love to do any type of craft whether it's planting a succulent, painting, coloring, making slime, or whatever. I love to keep the children I work with active and have their minds engaged while minimizing screen/tv time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny or babysitter is learning the child and their individuality. The more freedom they feel to express themselves whether it be through dancing, painting, or just trying new things helps them to build confidence they will rely on through the remainder of their lives. I love to build a bond with the children I work with and show them that I not only genuinely care but am here to listen, support, and cherish them and my time with them and of course try new things and have tons of fun! There's no time like childhood and being a nanny/babysitter reminds me regularly how important it is to enjoy the more innocent moments and time of life.

I have worked with children with Autism through an educational service in which I provided home care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have way too many to count! I moved to FL in Sept 2019 from Maryland and the family I worked with for 6 years still Facetimes and calls me regularly. Everytime I see their little faces on the screen it warms my heart. I love that we built a bond strong enough to last the distance so I can continue to see them grow through life as I have already seen many milestones with them in the last 6 years.
