More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I havent nannied or sat for a kid in almost 4 years.
Before this long, unwanted, hiatus, I nannied 2 kids, T and K. I watched them grow from a pair of 2 and 4 year olds to a 5 and a 7 years old. Those times were tough but they're irreplaceable. Those kids were everything to me. T and K, their laughs, their tears, their wit and their hugs saved my life. I'm not me if I dont have a child to take care of.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Foot races & homemade obstacle courses
Career pretend play: chef, president, detective, rockstar, celebrity, builder (the easiest transition to "clean up time" is playing "home decorator")
Catching, throwing, rolling and kicking balls (easiest transition into cleaning is by counting the balls, educational to an extent)
Playing with dolls, racing cars, lining up stuffed animals, HELPING WITH HOMEWORK!!!

The most important part about being a nanny...
is helping the children know they matter.
My experience with special needs children...
has all been with un/nondiagnosed children. It *can* be easy to spot cognitive disorders. It's even easier to mistake developing cognition as neurodivergency.
Either way, its easiest to have patience with the children in both categories.
Leading and caretaking with patience, compassion, and adoration is important to me.

The most important part about being a nanny...
In 2021 the 3 year old i had sat every tuesday, wednesday, and thursday for 5 months straight came running out to hug me and I held her in my arms while I cleaned the house for 2 hours.
The parents kept saying to put her down for my own sake. But I said "if its my choice, I choose her hugs."
