In high school I peer mentored for a second grade classroom and helped the teacher with the students. I did things such as reading and writing with the children as well as grading their papers and organizing their assignments. I really enjoyed being able to work with the children and be in the classroom with them everyday.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy playing outside and enjoying the outdoors such as playing catch, or kickball, or building a fort or playing in the water. I enjoy being able to spend time with children by reading and writing with them and playing games with them. Anything with children is exciting for me as long as they are happy.
My experience with special needs children...
I was previously employed at Fraser as a Behavioral Health technician for children with autism and behavioral issues. My best friend has a sister with down syndrome and I grew up around her and her family so I have experience with her.
